Italians celebrate Easter with elaborately decorated chocolate eggs with gifts inside that can range from a simple key chain to an engagement ring to more unusual gifts such as two tickets to a tropical island. "Like a lot of traditions in Italy, they start very simply, with people giving a chocolate egg at Easter, and as time went on, people wanted to make a bella figura, a special gift, for the holiday," said food writer Elizabeth Minchilli.
