EPA Regional Administrator Jared Blumenfeld said the agency has given the state 60 days to take corrective action, and if it fails to do so, the EPA may suspend payments from the Safe Drinking Water State Revolving Fund. Meanwhile, Ron Chapman, director of the California Department of Public Health, said that he would "take all steps necessary to address the compliance issues."
