A partnership between Gibson Overseas and Jarden Consumer Solutions is expanding to produce to a new line of cast-iron products under the Crock-Pot brand. The line includes a Dutch oven, flameproof casseroles and soup bowls.
The acquisition of HHI's hardware and home improvement businesses left Spectrum Brands with a net loss for the second quarter even as sales posted mediocre results. Net sales for the global batteries and appliances unit dropped 2.4% during the period, and global personal-care products sales dipped 1.2%.

Le Creuset's new facility in Charleston, S.C., features a working kitchen, deck and gym. The 9,000-square-foot facility sits on a marina and will serve as the company's North American Marketing and Culinary Center. Chefs will be able to use its kitchen, and the company plans to host public events at the facility. "Le Creuset is about fun and joy," said marketing communications director Will Copenhaver.
Home specialty retailer Kirkland’s reported net sales for the fourth quarter of $162.6 million, an increase of 9% over last year. Kirkland's opened 17 stores during the period and closed two, and saw a drop of 2.6% in comparable store sales.
