Bon Bon Buddies, based in Wales, plans to double sales in the next five years by focusing on international markets, particularly in the Middle East. The company wants more than 75% of sales to come from outside the U.K. within five years, up from the current 57% of non-U.K. sales.
John Rudolph, who founded Rudolph Foods in 1955 and held leadership roles in the Snack Food Association, died at the age of 88. Rudolph never retired from the company, a leader in pork rind and private-label products, and remained involved until the end of his life.
Hershey has released its annual corporate social responsibility scorecard, indicating it is on track to meet 2015 goals. Among the highlighted achievements, Hershey said it cut water use by 58 percentage points between 2009 and 2012 and is moving toward its goal of using only sustainably sourced palm oil by 2014.
Just Born's Peeps brand is introducing Peepsters and chocolate-dipped Peeps for Easter. Peepsters are individually wrapped bite-sized candies in milk chocolate or dark chocolate, and dipped Peeps feature either milk chocolate or dark chocolate at the bottom of each marshmallow chick.
