Increasing competition in the mobile payments arena, new payment models from players such as Square and a focus on serving the underbanked are prompting continual changes in the mobile wallet business model, according to Forrester Research. "These emerging payments models will disrupt payment economics and many of these emerging payments models are being introduced by players in the mobile space and/or the digital wallet space," said Denée Carrington, senior analyst at Forrester Research.
