A Louisiana school district has launched a new pilot program in nine middle schools in which educators use a novel to teach students about character. The book, "Quest of the Keys," follows a young man who is in a fictional land, searching for keys to open a locked cylinder. The program, aligned with the Common Core State Standards, seeks to teach students about life skills, such as responsibility, critical thinking and preparation, as well as how to handle bullying.
