NASA will likely receive $100 million as part of President Barack Obama's proposed 2014 federal budget that will go toward an asteroid-capturing program, says Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla. The funds will go toward a project to drag an asteroid into the moon's orbit to study the space rock. "This is part of what will be a much broader program," Nelson said. "The plan combines the science of mining an asteroid, along with developing ways to deflect one, along with providing a place to develop ways we can go to Mars."
