Architects designed a precast concrete arch for the new Oaks Station Place apartment complex in Minneapolis to reduce noise and pollution from passing buses and trains. Kaas Wilson Architects placed "padded strategic joints in the arch with vibration-dampening Neoprene," and "in the roadway beneath, layers of rebar and reinforcement went into the concrete, further canceling vibration from rolling buses," writes Matt Johnson.
