More than 67% of consumers who own Apple iPhones use mobile apps for commerce, compared with 43.9% of Android owners, according to the U.S. Arbitron Mobile Trends Panels Service. IPhone users spend more time than Android shoppers on mobile commerce apps such as eBay and the Passbook iOS digital wallet, but much of e-commerce is being conducted by accessing sites such as Amazon through a browser rather than mobile apps, according to the survey.
