Twitter signed a multiyear deal with Starcom MediaVest Group, selling space on the social network to clients such as Coca-Cola, Wal-Mart and Procter & Gamble. "Over the past few years, Twitter has been perceived as being in the 'experimental' budget, but SMG clearly doesn't think Twitter is experimental for them anymore. They believe Twitter is a vehicle they need to be a part of on an ongoing basis," said eMarketer analyst Debra Aho Williamson.
