Verizon Wireless does not consider its planned mobile TV service to be a threat to the broadcast TV industry, Lowell McAdam, the CEO of parent firm Verizon Communications, insisted at the National Association of Broadcasters conference on Tuesday. McAdam and NAB President Gordon Smith also pledged to cooperate despite tensions on such issues as wireless spectrum and mobile TV. While McAdam said, "Ninety-nine point nine percent of people will still be at home watching the game at home in front of their big 4K TV," Verizon will still likely be butting heads with broadcasters, who have introduced their own live mobile TV service.
