U.S. broadband providers have spent $1.2 trillion in less than 20 years to build out the country's high-speed network, with most companies using solely private funding for the infrastructure improvements, David Cohen, executive vice president of Comcast, said at a conference in Philadelphia. Americans "are getting world-class broadband from competing companies, and it's getting better every day," Cohen said.
