Tornado victims in Moore, Okla., are likely to receive insurance claims payouts that are lower than what they received after previous storms because increases in insured losses from storms and tornadoes in recent years have prompted more policies to have higher deductibles, lower roof-damage reimbursements and caps on payouts for total rebuilding, according to officials and industry executives. Nonetheless, "policyholders [in Moore] will be compensated for damages" and recovery efforts "will be fueled primarily by insurance dollars," said Insurance Information Institute President Robert Hartwig.
