John Hackett, who joined Kroger in 1963 as a clerk in Ohio, plans to retire June 29 as president of the mid-South division, a position he has held since 1990. "During his 50-year career, John has consistently demonstrated his passion for and commitment to our associates, our customers and our local communities," Kroger President and Chief Operating Officer Rodney McMullen said. "In addition to being a great executive, John is a first-class human being and person."
