EU investigators looking into possible petroleum price fixing raided the offices of BP, Royal Dutch Shell and Norway's Statoil ASA, as well as the oil-price reporting firm Platts, which administers the Brent oil contract. The European Commission said in a statement that it is concerned that "companies may have colluded in reporting distorted prices to a price-reporting agency to manipulate the published prices for a number of oil and biofuel products."
