Toddlers who were a little overweight at 18 months had a greater chance of being overweight and having higher systolic blood pressure at age 8, according to an Australian study in the journal Pediatrics. Boys and babies with greater birth length or who were born early were more likely to gain excess weight by 18 months of age, researchers said.
