Black and Hispanic teens who attended schools near a fast-food restaurant were more likely to be overweight than their Asian and Caucasian peers, according to a study in the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing. Living in low-income, urban neighborhoods with such proximity also canceled out the benefits of exercising three days a week for black and Hispanic students, the researchers found.
