The Federal Trade Commission has launched an inquiry into Google's display-ad business after competitors alleged that Google "bundles" ad services to force publishers to use all the services rather than one at a time. One rival told regulators Google is financially incentivizing clients of its DoubleClick display-ad service to use its AdMeld service for managing ad-space sales, according to a source familiar with the probe. U.S. display ads generated $2.26 billion in revenue for Google in 2012.
