Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said this week he will pull his support from a compromise immigration bill he helped draft if the Senate Judiciary Committee adds language benefiting same-sex couples. If the committee "tries to redefine marriage in the immigration bill they will lose me and many others," Graham tweeted. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., has also said he would no longer back the bill if it is amended to provide relief for same-sex binational couples. LGBT advocates say they hope President Barack Obama intervenes to press Senate Democrats not to back down on the issue.
