The green roof of the National Public Radio building in Washington, D.C., will feature beehives to help undo the decline in the honeybee population. The building is in an area where 2 million square feet of vegetation cover more than 200 private and public buildings. "Our new building is LEED gold, so we’re interested in all things green," said Joyce Slocum, the station's chief administrative officer.
