Golf course superintendents are using myriad strategies to create fast greens that appeal to a wide swath of customers, including switching out grass types and investing in new mowing technology.
“Everyone wants green speed today; it’s what makes the game fun,” says Patrick Gertner of Potowomut Golf Club in East Greenwich, R.I. “Golfers want the ball to roll like it’s on an airline tarmac.”
