Inflight entertainment firm Interact has named Michael Freedman global business development director. Freedman, who will be based in Sydney and will focus in particular on the firm's Asia/Pacific strategy, comes to Interact after 15 years at an executive producer of Qantas Inflight Entertainment. Last year, Turkish Airlines reported 28 incidents of unruly, inebriated passengers flying from Russia to Turkey. As such, the airline is considering a decision to ban alcohol on flights to and from Russia.
During the middle of next year, Qantas Airways will debut an upgraded and expanded Qantas Club lounge at Darwin International Airport. Competitor Virgin Australia also is set to open a new lounge at the airport.
Aircalin, New Caledonia's flagship airline, has chosen in-flight entertainment company Interact to design its new graphic user interface and safety video. The new products will first appear in the third quarter on Aircalin's newly retrofitted aircraft. The new cabins will feature Panasonic's AVOD onboard, upgraded seats and new galleys.
