U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg has rejected a challenge by a group of parents who sought to halt plans to close 15 schools in Washington, D.C. Boasberg ruled that the plans was not discriminatory against students, a key argument made by parents. Instead, he said it was "curious" that parents were fighting the effort, when the school district's "data show that the plan will reassign students to schools with significantly higher test scores and slightly more diversity," the judge said.
