Republicans at a House Natural Resources Committee hearing Wednesday criticized the Department of the Interior for plans to introduce federal hydraulic fracturing regulations, calling such a move an overreach. "States are able to carefully craft regulations to meet the unique geologic and hydrologic needs of their states," said the committee's chairman, Rep. Doc Hastings, R-Wash. "Imposing a one-size-fits-all regulatory structure, as the Obama administration is attempting to do, will not work," he added.
