U.S. energy infrastructure faces a daily onslaught of cyberattacks from viruses, worms, trojans and purpose-built malware designed to infiltrate networks and potentially disrupt operations, a new report finds. The survey of more than 150 utilities -- commissioned by Reps. Edward J. Markey, D-Mass., and Henry A. Waxman, D-Calif. -- found that while utilities are for the most part complying with minimum standards of protection, they lack a holistic approach to cybersecurity.
