Maine Gov. Paul LePage has signed a bill to prohibit the sale of gasoline containing more than 10% ethanol should two other New England states adopt the same measure. A bill that would have allowed the sale of E5 was defeated, while a measure that would ban the sale of corn-based ethanol if two other states in the region pass similar laws got a "do not pass" recommendation but is up for a possible reconsideration, said Darek Grant, secretary of the state Senate.
