McDonald's is reportedly considering further cuts to the menu after dropping its Angus burger, according to an e-mail to franchisees, in an effort to streamline the current roster of 145 items, 70% more than the chain offered in 2007. Managing the menu is a balancing act as McDonald's and its rivals turn to new menu items to win market share, without straining kitchen operations and slowing down service.
