Under a decision approved Monday, Michigan's Holland Public Schools district will use the proceeds from a 2010 bond to purchase 480 more Chromebooks, at a cost of $221,457, and 130 more iPads, for $65,530. Officials say they decided to purchase both devices because they have different capabilities that support student learning. For example, Chromebooks help students work collaboratively and produce documents, and iPads are better for reading and video production, the officials said.
