Tulsa, Okla., Mayor Dewey Bartlett has unveiled a $711.1 million budget proposal that is 0.9% higher than the current budget but would cut general-fund expenditures by 2% through eliminating positions, instituting a hiring freeze and cutting costs in supplies, travel and overtime. "Although we had to make cuts across departments, this budget proposal protects core services and preserves public-safety service levels," Bartlett said.
