A two-mile-wide tornado in central Oklahoma on Monday leveled neighborhoods in Moore, Okla., a suburb of Oklahoma City. Two elementary schools and a hospital sustained severe damage. Communication and transportation lines are out due to blocked roads and downed lines, power is out for more than 38,000 users, and there is no water in the area, according to reports. Early reports say 51 people are dead, many of them children, and the number is expected to rise. President Barack Obama, who has offered federal assistance, will discuss rescue efforts this morning in a news conference.
