Children whose mother or father lived longer than average had a 24% lower risk of developing cancer later in life and were more likely to live longer than those born to parents who died at a younger age, a study showed. Researchers noted that children of long-lived parents were also less likely to have diabetes or suffer a stroke. The findings appear in the Journals of Gerontology: Series A.
