Qualcomm accounted for 43% of the $12.9 billion market for smartphone processors in 2012, according to Strategy Analytics. Apple was the second largest company in the market, with a 16% revenue share, followed by Samsung Electronics, MediaTek and Broadcom, the firm found. Apple held 48% of the 2012 market for application processors going into tablet computers, which was worth $2.7 billion and 20% of that market went to Chinese suppliers of tablet app processors.
