Denver-based fast-casual burger chain Smashburger plans to expand from 200 units to about 500 in the next few years, and may seriously consider going public, CEO Dave Prokupek said Monday. The chain hasn't raised the price on its $4.99 Classic Smash burger since opening in 2007, but it added about 2% to the price of fries and drinks early this year, in anticipation of higher beef costs.
