A study found many surgical residents do not like regulations that restrict the hours they can work, which were conceived to improve the quality of life and education of surgeons-in-training and enhance patient care. Lead researcher Dr. Brian Drolet said, "I don't think anybody wants to work 120 hours a week, but I don't think we really want medicine to necessarily have bankers' hours." The survey also found a majority of residents do not comply with the restrictions.
