The percentage of women taking an active interest in retirement and investment topics has jumped to 62%, compared with 35% in 2006, according to a survey sponsored by Allianz Life Insurance. The survey also found that 90% of respondents said they should be more involved in financial planning, while about 70% reported a lack of confidence in their advisers. "Many women got a wake-up call and said, 'I have to pay attention to this, even if I've delegated it to my husband.' She can't just delegate it -- she really needs to understand it," said Katie Libbe of Allianz Life.
