Following this week's devastating tornado in Oklahoma, stories have emerged of teachers acting as protectors -- leading students to safety and, in some cases, shielding them from harm with their own bodies. "There's just a special person who thinks about becoming a teacher," said Gregg Garn, dean of the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. Teachers can be in situations where they shield their students "at the expense of their own safety," he added.
