Job seekers should be honest when a headhunter calls to offer a new job opportunity, search consultant Diane Fennig writes in this blog post. Candidates who find the job interesting should say so and schedule time away from the office to talk further. If the job is of no interest, they should also say so, Fennig suggests. "[P]oint me to others who might be a better match. It's common practice in higher-education searches for colleagues to 'pay it forward' and share nominations and referrals of other potential candidates," Fennig writes.
