Youths who acquire the recommended 60 minutes or more of daily physical activity have enhanced fitness and ultimately, improved health. Investigating whether meeting the national physical activity recommendations is associated with FITNESSGRAM® measured health-related standards, researchers found that adolescents who failed to meet national guidelines had reduced odds of achieving healthy fitness levels of aerobic capacity, BMI, muscle fitness and the combination of all three.
