Effective usability testing requires the use of several key metrics, such as how long it takes a user to complete tasks and how often the user makes a mistake while trying to complete a task, writes Christian Vasile. It also requires measuring how well a user recalls the browsing process after nonuse and the emotional response of the user to the process. He recommends testing fewer users thoroughly on multiple occasions and using a systematic approach to avoid errors.
