There are at least five deadly excuses for marketing inaction, Christopher Ryan writes, but stagnancy can be overcome. For example, marketers fearful of making a big mistake can start with a trial campaign with a smaller budget commitment, as doing small things consistently can often outweigh a big spend. And those doubting their own abilities can hire experts, which might end up costing less in the long run, Ryan adds.
