Seven of 17 randomized controlled trials on the pediatric use of osteopathic manipulation showed that the method was more effective than the other method tested in treating certain conditions such as asthma, obstructed tear ducts and ear infection. However, researchers said that seven other trials revealed that osteopathic manipulation had no effect on conditions like asthma, cerebral palsy, obstructive sleep apnea and ear infection. The analysis appears in the journal Pediatrics.
