Tabletop design has changed during the last decade as people's lifestyles have altered the way they set their tables, according to industry observers. "Table settings are more relaxed -- a mix of everyday china with formal pieces, fun collectibles used as a centerpiece. ... And shapes are being mixed -- square plates stacked on circular. There is more whimsy, more fun -- and it's more comfortable and easy to create," says D.J. Carey of Connecticut Cottages and Living.
