The North Carolina chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers gave the state's infrastructure an overall grade of "C," but its aviation facilities earned a "D+" and its dams were given a "D." Eric Rysdon, the chapter's president, said, "Modernizing our infrastructure will create jobs, build a better quality of life, and provide the foundation of North Carolina’s economy for a new generation of Carolina businesses."
