The federal government is not expected to complete its antitrust review of the proposed merger between US Airways and American Airlines until after AMR Corp., the parent company of American Airlines, emerges from bankruptcy in mid-August, sources say.
Twenty-one jets in the Virgin Australia Boeing 737-800 fleet have business-class seats with AC power outlets. "Over the next few years all of our Boeing 737s will be fitted with in-seat power," said Virgin Australia spokesman Luke O'Donnell.
Virgin Australia will no longer sell business-class seats on its older 737-700 aircraft due to customer complaints that the experience did not match up to the one on the airline's newer 737-800 aircraft. The seats will now be sold as economy, and passengers who have already paid business-class fares on those seats will receive rebates.
