Panelists at a Town Hall meeting about climate change and infrastructure referred to ASCE's 2013 ReportCard on America's Infrastructure as they decried the state of the country's infrastructure. U.S. businesses will see a $1.2 trillion rise in costs from “transportation delays, blackouts and brownouts, and water main breaks," according to the report. In addition, American families could be on the hook for $3,000 per year each in "lost time, lost service, more repairs on cars that travel on pot-holed roads," says Brian Pallasch, managing director of the ASCE.
