The franchise industry is expected to continue a higher rate of growth this year than the economy and other businesses, according to an IFA report released Wednesday. But IFA President and CEO Steve Caldeira said he is still concerned the industry is being slowed by an "uneven economic recovery and the onerous public policy environment facing our members and the small-business community." While small businesses remain cautious, the economy grew moderately in May, spurred by housing and manufacturing improvements, according to reports.
