Airlines in the U.S. are busy with deals as Delta recently bought a 49% stake in Virgin Atlantic and the US Airways-American Airlines merger is seeing some regulatory opposition over the potential to shift dominance and slots at airports in the Washington, D.C., area. "Other airline CEOs have repeatedly promised that merging their airlines would lead to more choices for travelers in small and rural communities," said Jay Rockefeller, D-Va., who heads up the Senate Commerce Committee.
