ConocoPhillips, Royal Dutch Shell and Statoil are among the energy firms awarded oil and natural gas exploration licenses off the coast of Norway in an energy lease sale, officials said. In all, 86 blocks were offered in the leasing round, of which 72 are in the Barents Sea. "Interest has been great and firms submitted great applications, confirming that the Norwegian Continental Shelf is a very interesting petroleum province," said Ola Borten Moe, Norway's oil minister.
