There are "frequent instances" of lenders implementing anti-discrimination policies in mortgage lending while failing to do so in other types of consumer lending, says Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Richard Cordray. Cordray made his remarks in a letter to Rep. Terri Sewell, D-Ala., who along with 12 other Democrats requested more information last month about the CFPB's directive on discrimination in auto lending. Cordray's letter did not address the origin of the policy.
