A project to build an underwater hotel on the island of Kuredhivaru in the Maldives could cost up to $50 million and has been given the green light. The hotel will feature two above-water disc-shaped lounges that house a spa and a luxury restaurant, connected by an underwater tunnel that also leads to 21 luxury underwater rooms -- each of which has windows to give visitors fish-eye views of marine life.
